Kathi Keville

Herbalist, Aromatherapist,

Forager & Author

Kathi Keville has written 16 books and over 150 national magazine articles. Internationally known, she’s an herbalist, aromatherapist, forager, and avid organic gardener, and highly recognized in the natural products industry. Kathi is the Director of the American Herb Association, a founding member of the American Herbalist Guild, and was granted honorary membership to the National Association of Holistic Aromatherapy and American Aromatherapy Association for her pioneering work.

 

Kathi’s Green Medicine Herb School offers a year-round herbal program in Nevada City, California. The year is divided into sections, allowing you to pick and choose your favorites. Beautifully landscaped herb gardens showcase 500 species of herbs.

Organic Herb Gardening

Herb gardens and design is Kathi’s passion. An early supporter of organic gardening, she managed a commercial herb garden for 15 years that sold to 10 different types of markets, including 40 Natural food stores. She now lovingly cultivates 500 varieties of herbs from all over the world in Northern California’s Sierra foothills. See photos of her amazingly beautiful Green Medicine Herb Farm. Kathi says it's her dream come true to live in a botanical garden.

Classes & Seminars Worldwide

Kathi presents seminars throughout North America, teaching at a variety of institutions, symposiums, herb schools, and retreats. These have included the University of California, Omega Institute, Blue Sky Education Foundation, and International Herb Symposiums, plus tours to Greece, France, and Italy. She teaches for San Francisco State University High Sierra campus, Indigenous People's Day, and at seminars. Her Aroma~Herbalism Journey to Tuscany every June has been called the trip of a lifetime.

TV & Radio Personality

RADIO: Tune in to KVMR’s Garden Forum Show with Kathi Keville 1st Monday of the month for an eclectic mix of herb medicine facts, gardening tips, plant folklore, and plant-related music. Kathi discusses agrarian-based festivals and plants used in seasonal celebrations. This is a call-in show so take the opportunity to speak with Kathi. The show's theme song? TV: Kathi, from her garden, co-hosted 18 episodes of the aromatherapy show “Everybody Nose” on Dish Network TV (Veria Network). 

Herbal Products

Oak Valley Herb Farm, a herbal and aromatherapy products business, was co-founded by Kathi. In 1973, it was the first US company to wholesale organically-grown herbal tea blends. It was ahead of its time so had to educate customers about the benefits of going organic! The company has evolved into an internet retail business that offers herbal product, essential oils and extracts.

Health & Beauty Consultant

Kathi offers her expertise as a product consultant to other aromatherapy and herb companies. She has helped develop formulas for aromatherapy cosmetics, herbal products, and body care.

National Magazine Articles 

Besides writing books, Kathi has written 150 articles for magazines such as Prevention, Herbs for Health, and Vegetarian Times. She has served as a consultant on articles for magazines such as National Geographic, Newsweek, and Woman’s Day. Kathi was Associate Editor and Staff Herb and Garden Writer for Well-Being Magazine from 1974 to 1983.

Author of 16 Books

Kathi’s 16 popular books have been published in eight countries and translated into five languages in 11 foreign editions. Her books are available through on-line stores. Kathi contributed chapters to various books: Natural Healing Wisdom,Planting the Future, Directory of Schools for Alternative and Complementary Medicine, and Natural Healing and served as consultant or editor on six other books.
